The Elites Were Wrong, Mark 11:27-33

My fur pal just got a bath.

Buddy doesn’t know where his food is processed, or where his kidney health pills are made, or where his dog shampoo is manufactured. But he definitely knows who loves and cares for him.

Me, his human, of course.

We live in a time where the common man is scorned and considered an idiot. So-called educated elites, graduated from Ivy League Colleges, consider themselves our superiors. Just as Karl Marx believed that the common man should be ruled by educated elites for their good, so do privileged persons from wealth and privilege, or acquired wealth, believe they have the right to rule and make decisions for the “unwashed masses.”

Do not be deceived. Bible believing Christians are included in the class of persons considered idiots who should be controlled and “reeducated.”

But consider the educate elites, the persons who knew the Scriptures and the prophecies about the Messiah (Jesus fulfilled over 300 of them), yet didn’t recognize the Messiah when He stood right in front of them and performed miracles.

“And He (Jesus) was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes, and the elders came to Him.

“And they said to Him, ‘By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority to do these things?’

“But Jesus answered and said to them, ‘I will also ask you one question; then answer Me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.’

“‘The baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men? Answer Me.’

“And they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘If we say, “from heaven,” He will say, “Why then did you not believe him?”’

“‘But if we say, “From men,”’—they feared the people, for all counted John to have been a prophet indeed.

“So they answered and said to Jesus, ‘We do not know.’ And Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.’”—Mark 11:27-33

The common person who were ruled unwillingly by the Roman rulers and were under the authority of the Jewish leadership were the ones who recognized that John the Baptist was the prophet foretold by Isaiah who would pave the way for the Messiah (Isaiah 40:3-5). And the common person recognized that Jesus was the Messiah. They heard His message and understood that His many miracles confirmed Jesus was God in the flesh (Matthew 1:23), Who had come to redeem humanity from their sins (Acts 4:12).

So please don’t feel diminished because someone claims to be your superior because of wealth, birth, or education.

Because the educated, the wealthy, and the rulers—the elite amongst the Romans and Israelites—totally missed the most important event in human history:

That God Himself walked among humankind.

Don’t let anybody make you feel less than or inferior. Because many of our elites today still miss the fact that Jesus, the Son of God, lived, died for our sins on the Cross, and rose from the grave on the Third Day to give us life.

God bless you.

Much love from Dawn and Buddy

The wisest decision you can make in your life is to ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.

Life is all about choosing who we will spend eternity with: Jesus in Heaven or Satan in Hell.

Because Satan cannot escape his coming punishment, he hates humanity, made in God’s image. So the devil will do anything he can to prevent you from escaping his control and entering into God’s kingdom of light. He wants you to believe his lies that your life is better off, and more fun, than being a Christian.

But please consider this: Whatever happiness you think you have in this life is a tiny drop in the ocean of eternity.

Does it make sense to choose a drop over a vast ocean?

When you repent of your sin, asking Jesus to be your Savior, and ask Him to be your Lord, your moral authority, this happens:

“He delivers us from the power of darkness and translates us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”—Apostle Paul, Colossians 1:13-14 (Verb tense changed in italics.)

Won’t you please choose to leave the power of the darkness and enter the kingdom of light?

If you choose not to right now, Jesus is always willing to accept you when you finally ask Him to be your Lord. But it’s always best to make that decision now, as tomorrow is never promised to us.

If you’re ready, please pray the following, out loud if possible:

Dear Heavenly Father, I’m sorry for my sins and ask You to forgive and cleanse me. I call on Jesus to be both my Lord and Savior. I believe that Jesus was God Who died for my sins and rose from the grave to give me eternal life. I give my life to You. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for hearing my prayer. In the mighty name of my Lord Jesus, amen.

If you prayed sincerely, congratulations, you’re born again. Please start reading the Bible daily as the Word of God is your soul food. Just as your body needs daily nourishment to be healthy, so does your soul. I suggest starting with the book of Matthew and reading forward, as it’s easy to understand.

And please join a Bible believing church or Bible study, and get baptized. You cannot grow in your faith and stand alone in an ungodly culture.

If that’s not possible right now, I suggest these two ministries, which also have apps, if that’s your preference: http://www.LTW.org (Leading The Way) and http://www.AndrewFarley.org (The Grace Message).

God bless you as you start your first steps into a new future with Jesus Christ. May Buddy and I meet you in heaven one day,
